Same general crap... Golden Tickets are highly flawed in its voting/rating system.
.. But at least SFNE's SROS is where it should be.

Can Kings Island win next year? Diamondback with Delerium.
The Voyage at the top sounds like crap with the stories coming off that thing. It should be El Toro though I have yet to ride Voyage.
SFNE S:ROS I agree is where it should be. Can it forgive me that I have not been there yet this season?
Best New Ride of 2008 - Amusement Park
Ravine Flyer II at Waldameer Park, Erie, Pa.
^YEAH!!!! That's more like it.

Wow, James upset at all the overrated parks and coasters that won. Gee, what a shock.
But then again, after you've been on over 500 coasters (what,s the count now, 540?) you forget what fun is.

I'm down with CP being overrated. I think I have shot with saying Kings Island should win it in the future and Cedar Fair will still have their hand in it.
I too believe though you could dilute the true experience of going to ride coasters when it becomes a race. I too count them but certain rides are worthy of rerides when you're in town.

Yeah I agree there. I mean if it's a race to ride the most coasters, then you really are not enjoying it anymore. I mean in the last 2 years I have really slacked off on the new rides I have been on. Partially due to deployment, but the other part being that if I ride everything so fast, then what? An amusement park will lose its' luster. I have not been on Voyage yet, but I am hard pressed to say it is better than El Toro also, which is an outstanding ride. But even the rides I have been on, regardless of how many times, many warrant a lot of reridership (is that a word? lol). I'll take quality over quantity ANY day.

I wonder if a lot of the people who vote for the Golden Tickets never get outside of their general region. Or maybe they just visit the same parks all the time. That's why these never change. It's bragging rights for the parks since the GP eats this up. For me? I know what I like. I don't need an award to tell me.

Andrew Polcyn - "Wow, James upset at all the overrated parks and coasters that won. Gee, what a shock."
Hmm.. Guess you didnt read my post... All I said was the way GTs work.. Is flawed. I guess YOU dont know how it works... - When did I ever say anything about being upset? When did I ever say anything about any ride or park? I said SROS won.. and that it was good.. Good = Upset? Really??
Chip - "I wonder if a lot of the people who vote for the Golden Tickets never get outside of their general region."
Once more.. Read how voting works please.

Dang, I was hoping Dollywood would make more progress in catching up with several 'legacy votes' such as Friendliest Park and Best Shows...
Well, at least it broke onto the 'Best Park' category for the first time, and won 'Best Christmas Event' and is only 200 votes under Voyage...

WooHooo.....
It seems they just copy & paste every year.
The Golden Tickets are nothing more than a joke.
I agree 100%with Chip. I don't need an award to tell me what coaster i like or what coasters are the best.
I think the best coasters & parks are the ones that don't get awards.

Not necessarily Carowinds. I think these awards are over blown, but I do think some of the awards given are justified to the parks or coasters they are bestowed upon.
Some of it is complete BS and I swear some parks that do win pay AT to get them on the ballots. Not all of them, just some.

I must say, although I did enjough the great air on Voyage, I believe that El Toro is WAY better. El Toro had the most insane ejector air I have ever experienced!

James, I understand how voting works. I just worded that wrong. Looks like the people who vote don't really visit other parks. There. Or they're fanboys. These awards are fairly boring now since they're so predictable. They should change the voters every year.

Yes. And thats what I said in my first post... Saying the GTs were flawed, but Andrew felt the need to make it seem like I was "upset" over "overrated parks and coasters"... lol - Personal attacks.

I'm sorry James, please accept my tearful apology and teach me the inner workings of the Golden Tickets.
Obviously these awards don't mean crap to me since I haven't seen the inside of a park in over 5 years.

Lol - Attitude ...And still with personal attacks... Don't know what your issue is with me.. But clearly you have one.
And GTs are flawed in the way voting isn't open to anyone.. Not even if you buy Amusement Today.. AT picks who they send ballots too but that alone makes it unfair.. Most of the voters have been to at least 30 parks.. 400 coasters... And parks outside of the US. So that does give more rides a chance.. But as you can see in the results.. not much..... blahblahblah.. Polls like the WoodCoasterPoll are much better in judging what coasters *are* the best.
And as you yourself said... It doesn't mean crap anyways.. As you can like whatever ride you want. (yet when I said it was crap in my first post... you felt the need to bring me up.. Hmm.. Why didn't Wes get bashed? He said the same thing as me...) - Feel free to IM me.

I think it's ridiculous that Voyage is ranking higher than El Toro or Phoenix. This ride may have been awesome when it opened, but if you've ridden it for the first time in 2008 and still think it's great, you're going to have to explain it to me.

I think SFFT's won best shows since the Golden Tickets were awarded.

Yes they have been winning for the last 10 years. but I have heard a lot of good things about SFFT's shows.
Though I will have no respect for the Golden Tickets as long as Memphis Kiddie Park is rated one of the best kiddie rides in the world.
