A 12-year-old girl was hurt when she hit the ground after a free-fall SCAD tower net did not fully catch her fall.
The net on the attraction at Extreme World in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., “was not high enough above the ground to break the fall, and she did hit the ground,” a police officer said.

The Kentucky State Fair Board took a major step towards reopening Kentucky Kingdom by settling a property dispute with the park’s former operator Six Flags. At its monthly regular meeting Thursday the State Fair Board approved a master settlement with the new management of Six Flags. The agreement could pave the way towards signing a new operator for the popular summer destination park in Louisville. In the agreement Six Flags would turn over 20 of the 60 acres of Kentucky Kingdom that it owns and all but just one ride to the State Fair Board. The board would also get all furniture, fixtures, equipment related to the park as well as the intellectual rights which include names to the park rides.

A 15-year-old girl was killed when the Pendulum ride collapsed at Tibidabo in Barcelona, Spain.
The spinning thrill ride collapsed and fell on another ride. A 15-year-old boy was injured and could walk away, but two girls were hospitalized. One remains in the hospital. Pendulum has seats on the end of a long arm and swings back and forth. It goes about 60 mph and is about 140 feet tall.

A fire was reported in a Cedar Point maintenance building around 9:00 p.m. local time this evening, with three reported injuries to responding firefighters.
Cedar Point firefighters responded, and later requested Sandusky, Huron, Perkins, and Margaretta fire departments to aid in extinguishing the fire in the two story maintenance near Perimeter Road. One firefighter was transported to the hospital with possible burns, and two were transported for heat exhaustion. All were treated then released.
